Why to treat in an interdisciplinary pain clinic?

For the integrity of the treatment, because the interdisciplinary team respects and addresses all the aspects relatd to the pain experience. We value the integrative work. We see our patients as a whole and our goal is not just relieving pain, but to promote health and to improve quality of life of people.

The Pain Management Program in our pain center is individualized and can include interventional pain procedures, physiotherapy, pain education, orientation and medication review, psychological assessment, acupuncture, psychiatry, nutrition and many other resources.

The basis for the success of our Pain Management Program is the work of our interdisciplinary team, because each professional contributes to the treatment with their respective points of view. Also important is the commitment and colaboration by each patient.

Tips for your first consultation

Every new patient needs an initial assessment, which includes medical history and a detailed physical examination. By this assessment, the pain physician assures that every therapeuthic option for the needs of each patient is matched, taking into acount the actual state of the pain, the medications the patient is taking and possible alergies.

Think about the questions you will want to make for your new doctor and take a note of them.

At the day of the consultation, you should bring with you:

  • Record of previous treatments
  • Imaging exams: X-Ray, MRI
  • Your last laboratory examinations
